Bollington Brewing Company presented a total of £3027.26 to two local charities on Tuesday 26th November 2019.
The funds were raised from two events over the summer. The first, a fell race, saw 311 runners take on the 3 Peaks of Bollington, and in turn raise £2269.26 for the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team. This brilliant organisation sees volunteers give up their time and risk their safety regularly, as they help those in trouble in the remote areas of the Peak District that surround Macclesfield and Bollington. The event has raised money for the Mountain Rescue Team for the last 11 years and is the only race of its type nationwide to start and finish at a brewery.
The second event was a 10 mile ramble that linked the three Bollington Brewing Company pubs, The Cask Tavern in Poynton, The Vale Inn in Bollington and the Park Tavern in Macclesfield. 34 people joined us and raised £758 for Space4Autism. Food and drinks were donated by the brewery as the Macclesfield based charity is one close to them; they have customers in each of their pubs that have benefited from the excellent work Space4Autism do supporting those affected by the Autistic spectrum and their families. The walk is in its third year now and has raised money for three different charities, including Poynton family Ollie and Amelia Carroll through Ollie’s Army.
The presentation took place at The Vale Inn, the brewery’s tap room in Bollington where Bollington Brewing Director, Lee Wainwright was joined by event organisers Andy Skelhorn and Tim Jones, Richard Doran from Buxton Mountain Rescue and Cheryl Simpson from Space4Autism alongside other representatives from each of the charities.
