The Vale Wins Cider Pub of the Year 2013

The Vale Inn

The Bollington Brewing Company

It isn’t all about the beer at The Vale Inn and we’re delighted to announce that we’ve won CAMRA Northwest Cider Pub of the Year 2013 beating opposition in Merseyside, the Wirral and the whole of Cheshire.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the comments we had from the judge too who was extremely impressed with the welcome & friendly atmosphere. She lives on the Wirral and came by 3 trains and a taxi just to see us and said it was nice to go in a pub on her own and be made to feel quite at home. She thoroughly enjoyed our cheese & biscuits washed down with Mr Whitehead’s Toffee Apple cider.

We’ve had two pumps dedicated to real cider and perry for some time now allowing us to serve some amazing ciders and perrys from across the UK. We even held an apple pressing day in 2011 for those wanting to make their own cider.

Cider has seen a huge increase in popularity over the last couple of years and is now as popular as lager among British drinkers. While a lot of this has been down to the big brands it has been a great opportunity for some of the UK’s real cider producers too.

We’ve loved showcasing some of the great ciders and perrys from independent producers like us, including Janet’s Jungle Juice from West Croft Cider and Moonshine and Broadoak Perry from The Broadoak Cider Co..
