We are organising a charity walk on Saturday 12th October from the Cask Tavern in Poynton through to The Vale Inn in Bollington and then on over Kerridge Ridge and down in to Macclesfield to The Park Tavern.
Total walk of roughly 10 miles (16K) taking about 4 hours gentle walking. A Walk to the Park is a celebration of lots of things; the three excellent pubs in the Bollington Brewing Company’s stable, the beautiful Cheshire countryside that surrounds them, the rambling and hiking community that enjoys them and this year we will be raising money for Space4Autism.
Space4Autism is a Macclesfield based volunteer-run charity. The support the whole family of those living with Autism, a lifelong developmental disability that affects how people communicate and make sense of the world.
They do this through clubs, education both about autism and related issues, but also for people on the Autistic Spectrum helping and empowering them with lifeskills, carer support meetings and get togethers and signposting as required.
The walk itself will leave the Cask Tavern at 11am after we’ve had coffee and cake and completed registration. We will walk roughly 5 miles to the Vale Inn where bacon butties (or veggie alternative) will be provided ready for the final 5 miles to the Park Tavern in Macclesfield where there will be enough food for a hungry walker!!
The ticket include refreshments at each of the pubs, including a pint of beer at the Vale and the Park.
Entry fee for the walk will be £20, sign up info will be coming soon. Supervised older children and dogs are welcome on the walk.
The day will look a bit like this, all times are approximate.;
9:30 : Cask Tavern : Check in opens, free cake and tea or coffee.
11:00 : Leave the Cask and for the first leg to the Vale.
12:30 : Vale Inn : Arrive for free Bacon sandwiches and a beer
13:30 : Leave the Vale Inn and head up to White Nancy and over Kerridge Ridge
16:30 : Park Tavern : Something to eat and a drink to finish off the challenge
